Every scaffold is handed over tagged, and re-inspected on the schedule the regulation requires rather than when someone remembers. If a tag is out of date the scaffold does not get used, and that is not us being difficult — it is the first thing an inspector looks at.
Nothing gets modified on site by another trade. If the plumber needs a bay opened, we open it. A scaffold that has been "just moved a bit" by somebody else is a scaffold nobody has signed off.
We work to the loading class the job actually needs. A light-duty scaffold under a bricklayer is the most common thing we get called to fix, usually after it has already been loaded out.

That is genuinely enough for a number on most residential work. Photos of the elevation and the ground conditions help — sloping ground, a retaining wall, a narrow side access or a bin easement all change the design, and finding them out on erection day is what pushes a job.
We will tell you if you do not need scaffold. Plenty of jobs are a tower or an EWP hire, and quoting you for something bigger is a good way to never hear from you again.
